As we mark their first anniversary, I’m thrilled to share Ash and Kristian’s incredible Long Beach ceremony. Their wedding, held on September 25th, 2022, at The Modern event venue in sunny California, was nothing short of spectacular.

Our connection began through mutual friends. When they got engaged, I was so pumped to hear they wanted to fly me out to shoot their wedding. Traveling to document an amazing couple is one of my favorite things as a Texas wedding photographer.

The wedding day was a whirlwind of love and celebration. It all began with the bridal party getting ready at separate Airbnb locations. The ladies enjoyed champagne while hairstylists and makeup artists worked their magic. Meanwhile, the guys relaxed and watched football. Football holds a special place in Kristian’s heart, with the LA Chargers being his favorite team. Ashley surprised him with season tickets, presented in a shoebox. His reaction was absolutely priceless.

One highlight of the venue was the airplane hangar, bathed in the warm, golden glow of the setting sun. It provided a breathtaking backdrop for some of the most memorable moments of the day.

However, the reception stole the show. The dance floor turned into a whirlwind of joy and celebration. Instead of the typical wedding DJ, they had one who spun a mix of old-school hip-hop, R&B classics, and Latin/reggaeton hits, turning the reception into “Club Lumangyao.” The party was electric! In fact, the venue and DJ extended their time until midnight because no one wanted the night to end. Talk about a great party!

Ash and Kristian’s Long Beach ceremony was a testament to love’s power and the importance of celebrating it with family and friends. Their journey began with a chance meeting and has blossomed into a beautiful love story that continues to evolve. As we honor their one-year anniversary, we also celebrate their love, which is a shining example of what happens when two vibrant souls come together.
